2020.09.28 07:49 eatpoetry 14 Looks Specifically From 2010 to Try Right Now on Pintrest

Srs my Pinterest post last night seemed to be popular, so I thought I would share my album of fashion that's almost comically out of date that's been come up on suggestions from other images. (May have actively searched just a LITTLE to find the most out of date things possible, but some of these definately were suggested to me)
I actually really like 2008-2012 clothes and most of these looks I sort of like/miss but they all have one thing in common: they are not currently trendy, like, at all.
So without further ado: RIP 2010 Hipsters
Edit: Added "srs" because I don't want people to think I'm making fun of these looks. I really do like them! (Except for maybe the baggy shirts tucked into low rise pants) It's just that they literally ARE trendy hipster fashion that was posted online, 10 years ago.

2020.09.27 13:00 lenalikesboots A few of my POTO wants

Hi guys!!!
I'm close to completing my POTO video collection! However, for that to happen, I still need a few videos. Hit me up if you have any of these videos:
Phantom Follies Rob Guest, Marina Prior, Dale Burridge, Maree Johnson, Caroline Ferrie 1992; Australia "Australian cast puts on skits and spoofs for charity, runs for over two hours. Some of the skits/parodies: 'Beauty School Dropout,' 'The Three Raoul Amigos,' 'A Charade,' 'I'm Too Sexy,' a rock version of 'Il Muto,' and a rap/dance version of 'Think of Me'."
Brad Little, Elizabeth Southard, Tim Martin Gleason January 11, 2004; Orlando Matinee performance. Three DAT files. Small picture with a lot of washout and fuzziness. Looks like it was filmed by the same person who did the evening performance on the same date. Brad Little's last matinee performance in the national tour
Damian Aleksander, Paulina Janczak/Edyta Krzemien, Marcin Mrozinski/Piotr Domalewski 2008 (?); Warsaw, Poland Various clips, highlights, and trailers from the Polish production, mostly ripped off YouTube. Combination of MP4 and FLV file

Hugh Panaro, Sandra Joseph, John Cudia, Jeff Keller, George Lee Andrews, Patricia Phillips, Marilyn Caskey, Larry Wayne Morbitt, Joelle Gates* August 9, 2003; Broadway Rather massive head blocks most of the bottom, but filmer does their best to shoot around it.
Howard McGillin, Rebecca Pitcher, Michael Shawn Lewis, Julie Schmidt (u/s), David Cryer, George Lee Andrews, Marilyn Caskey, Roland Rusinek, Heather McFadden* August 18, 2006; Broadway Terrific quality video, very sharp colors and details. Absolutely Phantomless April 13, 1995; Australia "The Australian cast of Phantom of the Opera in their annual Easter Charity Concert. Each of Cameron Mackintosh’s Australian shows participates at midnight after their regular performances. These shows feature the cast members parodying songs and other shows, with a slight tilt towards their own productions. Pro-shot for video, these tapes were made for cast and crew only."
Chopper Opera Rob Guest, Danielle Everett, John Bowles April 4, 1996; Sydney, Australia "The Sydney casts of Phantom of the Opera and Miss Saigon feature in this Easter Charity concert. 2020.09.27 12:55 lenalikesboots A few POTO wants

Brad Little, Claire Lyon, Anthony Downing Late 2014/Early 2015; Hong Kong, China Poorly shot, very far away video. MP4 files. Lots of blackouts, often not focused on the stage in Act 1, but improves slightly in Act 2.
Dmitry Ermak, Tamara Kotova, Eugeny Zaycev 2015; Moscow, Russia MP4 files, highlights of Act 1 only: Hannibal, 'Think of Me', 'The Mirror', and the title song
Brad Little, Emilie Lynn/Kristi Holden, Anthony Downing 2015; World Tour A bunch of Instagram clips of various scenes and actors from the World Tour. To be gifted.
Hugh Panaro, Sandra Joseph, John Cudia, Jeff Keller, George Lee Andrews, Patricia Phillips, Marilyn Caskey, Larry Wayne Morbitt, Joelle Gates* August 9, 2003; Broadway Rather massive head blocks most of the bottom, but filmer does their best to shoot around it.
Howard McGillin, Rebecca Pitcher, Michael Shawn Lewis, Julie Schmidt (u/s), David Cryer, George Lee Andrews, Marilyn Caskey, Roland Rusinek, Heather McFadden* August 18, 2006; Broadway Terrific quality video, very sharp colors and details. Audio is out of sync starting at 'Angel of Music' but is fixed by the title song.
Features "adapted" music from both shows in addition to pop music and songs from other shows. Pro-shot for video but generation loss."
Tomasz Steciuk, Edyta Krzemien, Marcin Mrozinski, Anna Gigiel, Jan Bzdawka, Jakub Szydłowski, Wojciech Socha July 8, 2011; Wieliczka, Poland 5 MP4 files of a concert version of the Polish production. Includes most of the big numbers and limited sets and costumes.
Hugh Panaro, Mary Michael Patterson, Jeremy Hays December 10, 2013; Broadway Highlights, turnofthescorpion's master.
Hugh Panaro, Mary Michael Patterson, Jeremy Hays January 18, 2014; Broadway
Marcus Lovett, Sofia Escobar, Simon Thomas, Lara Martins, Duncan Smith (u/s), Gareth Snook, Cheryl McAvoy, Jeremy Secomb, Layla Harrison (u/s) March 6, 2013; London 6 minute WMV video, containing parts of 'Think of Me', 'Angel of Music', 'The Mirror', title song, 'Music of the Night', 'Stranger Than You Dreamt It', and 'All I Ask of You'. Blurry shot most of the time, but sometimes clears up, though is not zoomed in. Still, great to see video of Sofia Escobar.
Marcus Lovett, Anna O'Byrne, Simon Thomas April 22, 2013; London Two VOB clips only, 'Music of the Night' and 'All I Ask of You Reprise'. (Note: Image is cropped; it's much taller than it looks here.)
Hugh Panaro, Mary Michael Patterson, Jeremy Hays October 4, 2013; Broadway Turnofthescorpion's master. Starts from 'Wandering Child', mostly blindshot. MT2 file.
James Barbour, Ali Ewoldt, Jordan Donica July 15, 2016; Broadway Act 1 only, MP4 file, mostly blindshot.
Phantom Compilation 1 Original review: "San Francisco local news behind-the-scenes segment with Franc D'Ambrosio and Lisa Vroman; Mid-August 1999, All I Ask of You and Music of the Night on Today Show with Ted Keegan, Sarah Pfisterer, and Gary Mauer; 1993, Today Show Broadway 5th anniversary segment with Mark Jacoby, Karen Culliver, etc.; 1993, Michael Crawford interviewed and performing "Since You Stayed Here" on Regis & Kathie Lee and Good Morning America; E! Phantom Compilation 2 Behind-the-scenes special on the national tour in Buffalo with Ted Keegan and Rebecca Pitcher, mainly in black-and-white, as well as similar behind-the-scenes special in Seattle with similar content (in color) and interviews.
Rob Guest, Maree Johnson, Peter Cousens 1994; Sydney, Australia Midday Special that aired on TV; includes interviews and four proshot songs: 'Music of the Night', 'Prima Donna', 'All I Ask of You', and 'Masquerade'.
Laird Mackintosh (u/s), Mary Michael Patterson, Jeremy Hays January 22, 2014; Broadway Laird Mackintosh's second time as the Phantom on Broadway; includes 'All I Ask of You Reprise', 'Point of No Return', and 'Final Lair'. M2T file.
James Barbour, Kaley Ann Voorhees, Jeremy Hays March 2, 2015; Broadway A bunch of MP4 videos consisting of scattered, generally Christine-oriented highlights. This was uploaded to Instagram live at the performance, so all parts are 15 seconds long. Consists of parts of 'Think of Me', 'The Mirror', title song, 'Music of the Night', rooftop, 'Wishing', 'Point of No Return', and 'Final Lair'. Parts are well-shot (sometimes it looks like the person is right under the cast member!).
Various Phantom of the Opera-Related Clips Clips all copied off of TV: Steve Barton & Sarah Brightman singing AIAOY live, Sarah Brightman and Steve Harley's concept POTO video, interviews with Michael Crawford during his Phantom run, 1988 Tony Award Presentation to Michael Crawford, Michael Crawford and Dale Kristien performing POTO, Michael Crawford AIAOY duet with Dale Kristien, Michael Crawford in concert performing MOTN, Davis Gaines and Tracy Shayne performing MOTN, German version of MOTN sang on a TV set, German version of POTO Video, PONR with Sarah Brightman and Michael Crawford, Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman performance at the Tony Awards, Michael Crawford and Dale Kristien – Music of the Night, Sarah Brightman singing MOTN,footage of the OBC at the Majestic Theatre, Robert Guillaume and Dale Kristien – MOTN, Colm Wilkinson singing MOTN, Unidentified Raoul and Christine performing AIAOY, Michael Crawford video of MOTN, interview footage with Steve Barton.

It includes interviews with the Advance Stage Manager, the Conductor, a Playhouse Square VP, Trista Moldovan and Tim Martin Gleason, and the Wardrobe Supervisor. Also includes footage clips from the current 2010 Phantom cast, filmed here in Cleveland."
Peter Karrie, Teresa DeZarn, Kip Wilbourne 1997; Vancouver, Canada Half hour segment from The Slate on BBC Wales about Peter Karrie's time in the Phantom Canadian production. Includes interviews and proshot clips with the cast at the time, but has some pretty heavy distortion and color bleeding.
Ian Jon Bourg, Alison Kelly, Janine Kitzen, Maike Switzer, Beatrix Reiterer 2000 and onwards; Hamburg, Stuttgart, and Essen, Germany Proshot videos of Ian Jon Bourg performing in-concert with various Christines. About 30 minutes long.
Ian Jon Bourg, Lori Zeglarski (?), Kyle Gonyea 2000 (?); Hamburg, Germany Act 2 only, includes part of the March 31, 1999 video with Jerzy Jeszke, Carla Nicholson, and Bjorn Olsson. Christine was labeled as Colby Thomas, but it looks like Lori Zeglarski. Date is also a guess.
Ian Jon Bourg, Janine Kitzen, Michael Shawn Lewis November 16, 2002; Stuttgart, Germany Monitor video of one of the first shows in Stuttgart, with audio fed in from the soundboard. Decent color and exposure; better than the other two monitor videos that came out of Stuttgart. Filming continues through intermission, so video features 30 minutes of curtains. LIMITED TRADE.
Ian Jon Bourg, Sandra Danyella September 4, 2005; Essen, Germany Promotional outdoor concert for the Essen production, includes 'Wishing', title song, and 'Music of the Night'.
Andrew Lloyd Webber, Cameron Mackintosh, Charles Hart, Gillian Lynne, Richard Stilgoe, Michael Crawford, Sarah Brightman, etc. December 26, 2006; Various Locations Not exactly an online video of the show, but the 'Behind the Mask' special documentary, taken directly off the BBC 2 channel.

2020.09.27 09:24 SpareFrame 2008 prius vs. 2003 toyota camry xle for the average commuter?

I am looking at purchasing a used car for commuting about 40 miles roundtrip to work each day. I am looking for a reliable, comfortable, low cost of ownership vehicle, that would also be comfortable for the rare roadtrip/or moving apartments. My budget is under $3400, want to pay all at once cash. Looking to keep this car for about 3 years until I upgrade to something else. Trying to save as much cash right now as possible as we are in a pandemic.
2008 prius craiglist ad: 205000 miles, clean title, power windows and locks, cruise, ac, alloys, good tires, Stereo, Leather seats, nice interior. Asking $3295
2003 toyota camry xle craiglst ad: Automatic transmission, 4 cylinder 2.4 liter, fully loaded, sunroof, leather seats, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, cc, cold air conditioning, 163,364 miles, clean title, registration up to date, smogged. Runs and looks great. No mechanical problems. Asking $2695
Prius pros/cons:
With the prius, I'm looking long term it would save me about $1000 in gas annually (which is more than the price difference between the cars of $600, so looking at a potential savings of $400 in first year of ownership). My reservations about the prius are potentially replacing the battery with a cost of about $1000 based on what I found online. I could easily do the repair myself if needed. This is my biggest reservation about going with the prius, but also I've read that some people can get their prius up to 300000 on the original battery. Also, the prius has about 40,000 more miles on it than the camry, but based on the owner's description they've kept up with the maintance of the car and the engine/interioexterior are in excellent shape. Prius is an initial cost of $600 more, which is still in budget but more than the camry. I like the car but am worried I'd be plagued with battery troubles if something unexpected came up. I know you can still drive the car without the battery, but then you're working with a tiny gas tank to get to point a to b.
Camry pros/cons:
I like that this is the "top of the line" executive edition so it feels more like a lexus inside or something more luxurious. From all my research this car is basically bulletproof if you take good care of it. The current owner has taken excellent care of the vehicle and it only has 163364 miles on it, which means it has plenty of life left in it. I think it would be more reliable than the prius. Also if anything were to go wrong with the camry's engine, it's a 4 cyl so it would be cheapeeasier to make the repair than a 6 cyl (also toyota parts are cheap). I also think this car would be more comfortable for roadtrips than the prius (again it drives like a lexus). Cons are gas mileage, it's not fantastic, 21 city 29 hwy, but it takes regular gas which is cheaper than my current car (only premium). The car is really in excellent shape.
Which car would you choose and why?

2020.09.27 04:53 CrystryYT The nintendo ds definition

Open main menu Wikipedia Search Nintendo DS Language Download PDF Watch Edit This article is about the 2004 Nintendo DS game console. For the entire series, see Nintendo DS family and Nintendo DS (disambiguation). The Nintendo DS[a], or simply DS, is a dual-screen handheld game console developed and released by Nintendo. The device released globally across 2004 and 2005. The DS, an initialism for "Developers' System" or "Dual Screen",[5] introduced distinctive new features to handheld gaming: two LCD screens working in tandem (the bottom one being a touchscreen), a built-in microphone and support for wireless connectivity.[6] Both screens are encompassed within a clamshell design similar to the Game Boy Advance SP. The Nintendo DS also features the ability for multiple DS consoles to directly interact with each other over Wi-Fi within a short range without the need to connect to an existing wireless network. Alternatively, they could interact online using the now-defunct Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service. Its main competitor was Sony's PlayStation Portable during the seventh generation of video game consoles.

However, backward compatibility with Game Boy Advance titles and strong sales ultimately established it as the successor to the Game Boy series.[7] On March 2, 2006, Nintendo launched the Nintendo DS Lite, a slimmer and lighter redesign of the original Nintendo DS with brighter screens. On November 1, 2008, Nintendo released the Nintendo DSi, another redesign with several hardware improvements and new features, although it lost backwards compatibility for Game Boy Advance titles and a few original DS games that used the GBA slot. All Nintendo DS models combined have sold 154.02 million units,[8] making it the best selling handheld game console to date, and the second best selling video game console of all time behind Sony's PlayStation 2.[3][9] The Nintendo DS line was succeeded by the Nintendo 3DS family in 2011, which maintains backward compatibility with nearly all Nintendo DS software except for some software that requires the GBA slot for use.

2020.09.26 07:53 youngbull316 My Presidential Theory in the form of the Early, Core, & Late system

Starting with the Silent Generation (I could possibly go further back in the near future):
This is part I, with Range #1, because this is going to be too long to do both ranges.
Range #1 (based on time of birth)
Silent Generation = b. 1929-1944 (specifically, March 4, 1929 - April 12, 1945, a.k.a. Classes of 1947-1963)

Early Silents = b. 1929-1932 (specifically, March 4, 1929 - March 4, 1933, a.k.a. Classes of 1947-1951)
Have some remaining GI traits, were all born during the Herbert Hoover administration, and were for the most part, born in the early 30's, during the Great Depression. They were some of the main "Great Depression" kids of the 1930's, along with the younger GI's. Were largely big children and/or adolesecents (though the term probably didn't exist back then) during World War II and were the first full group to not be old enough to fight in it. They would of come of age in the late 1940's and were old enough to fight in the Korean War. They are largely the children of the Lost and Greatest Generation, and the parents of the Truman, Eisenhower, and JFK-born Boomers, as well as the LBJ-born Xers, give or take.

Core Silents = b. 1933-1940 (specifically, March 4, 1933 - January 20, 1941, a.k.a. Classes of 1951-1959)
I will break this up to two groups: Core Silents I & Core Silents II

Core Silents I = b. 1933-1936 (specifically, March 4, 1933 - January 20, 1937, a.k.a. Classes of 1951-1955)
They are the core representatives of the Silent Generation with no sort of overlap from the GI Generation whatsoever. They were born in the mid 30's during the first term of Franklin D. Roosevelt. They spent their childhood mainly in the early 1940's during the peak of World War II, so they are the main "World War II kids", came of age in the early 1950's during the Korean War and possibly could have fought in the war (probably the youngest though). They are largely the children of the Lost and Greatest Generation, and the parents of the Eisenhower and JFK-born Boomers, as well as the LBJ and Nixon-born Xers, give or take.

Core Silents II = b. 1937-1940 (specifically, January 20, 1937 - January 20, 1941, a.k.a. Classes of 1955-1959)
The first cohort to be born at the start of the new date for the presidential inauguration: January 20, instead of March 4. They were born in the late 30's during the second term of Franklin D. Roosevelt. This group numerically fits in the core but possibly has the earliest Baby Boomer traits. They were mainly kids at the end of World War II, and the start of the prosperity of the baby boom in the late 1940's, lasting throughout the 1950's. They were probably the main young adults of the civil rights movements (though the whole group was diverse in age) and the leaders of the hippie movement that largely influenced the Truman-born Boomers. They are largely the children of the Greatest Generation, and the parents of the JFK-born Boomers, LBJ and Nixon-born Xers, give or take.

Late Silents = b. 1941-1944 (specifically, January 20, 1941 - April 12, 1945, a.k.a. Classes of 1959-1963)
They were born in the early 40's during the third & fourth term of Franklin D. Roosevelt until his unfortunate passing before Harry S. Truman succeeded him. This group has strong Baby Boomer traits/influence. All or almost all of the Beatles are in this cohort. They spent their main childhood in the late 1940's and early 1950's, and came of age during the civil rights movement of the early 1960's and the Cuban Missile Crisis. They were the main "60's generation" that is widely known to describe the 40's born Baby Boomers. They are largely the children of the Greatest Generation, and the parents of the LBJ and Nixon/Ford-born Xers, give or take.

Baby Boomers = b. 1945-1963 (specifically, April 12, 1945 - November 22, 1963, a.k.a. Classes of 1963-1982)

Early Boomers = b. 1945-1948 (specifically, April 12, 1945 - January 20, 1949, a.k.a. Classes of 1963-1967)
They were born in the mid-late 40's during the first term of Harry S. Truman, after Franklin D. Roosevelt passed away. This group has some strong Silent influence. They were the main "50's kids" and came of age at the time of JFK's and Malcolm X's assassination, the Civil Rights Movement, etc. They were a part of the soldiers of the Vietnam War, as they became of age to fight and got drafted to go to war. Three of US presidents came from this cohort and were all born the same year: 1946. They are largely the children of the Greatest Generation, and the parents of the Nixon/Ford and Carter-born Xers, as well as the Reagan-born Millennials, give or take.

Core Boomers = b. 1949-1961 (specifically, January 20, 1949 - January 20, 1961, a.k.a. Classes of 1967-1979)
This will break up in three groups: Core Boomers I, Core Boomers II, & Core Boomers III.

Core Boomers I = b. 1949-1952 (specifically, January 20, 1949 - January 20, 1953, a.k.a. Classes of 1967-1971)
They were born in the early 50's during the second term of Harry S. Truman. They spent the majority of their childhoods in the 1950's, so they are also the stereotypical "50's kid, 60's teen/young adult" Boomers. This group has little to no remaining influence from the Silent Generation. They also had to fight in the Vietnam War, just like their 40's born counterparts. They came of age during the Summer of Love '67, Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy's assassinations, the tumultuous year of 1968, the moon landing, Woodstock '69, Kent State '70, etc. They are largely the children of the Greatest Generation, as well as the Hoover-born Silents, and the parents of the Ford and Carter-born Xers, as well as the Reagan-born Millennials, give or take.

Core Boomers II = b. 1953-1956 (specifically, January 20, 1953 - January 20, 1957, a.k.a. Classes of 1971-1975)
They were born in the mid 50's during the first term of Dwight D. Eisenhower. This group is the absolute core of the Baby Boomers, with completely no Silent Generation or Generation X traits. They spent the majority of their childhood early 60's and teenage years in the early 70's. They came of age when the US election allowed 18-20 year-olds to vote from the 21+ voting law and during Watergate, followed by then President Richard Nixon's resignation. This group was the very youngest that were able to fight in the Vietnam before its official end in 1975. They are largely the children of the Greatest Generation, as well as the Hoover and FDR-born Silents, and the parents of the Carter-born Xers, as well as the Reagan and Bush Sr.-born Millennials, give or take.

Core Boomers III = b. 1957-1960 (specifically, January 20, 1957 - January 20, 1961, a.k.a. Classes of 1975-1979)
They were born in the late 50's during the second term of Dwight D. Eisenhower. This group possibly are the first that have any X traits. They are the last to have memory of the JFK assassination. They were the main "60's kid, disco, and 80's 'yuppies'" generation. They came of age during the birth of Apple and the Star Wars series, release of Atari (which was the beginning of the home video game evolution), the Jonestown massacre, etc. They are largely the children of the Greatest Generation, as well as the Hoover and FDR-born Silents, and the parents of the Reagan, Bush Sr., and Clinton-born Millennials, give or take.

Late Boomers = b. 1961-1963 (specifically, January 20, 1961 - November 22, 1963, a.k.a. Classes of 1979-1982)
They were born in the early 60's during John F. Kennedy administration before his assassination. This group is on the cusp of Gen X, but is way more Baby Boomer than Gen X. They were kids in the late 60's during the Summer of Love '67, the assassinations of Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy, the tumultuous year of 1968, the moon landing, Woodstock '69, Kent State '70, etc. They were teens in the late 70's during the rise of New Wave and the peak of Disco, before dying out around 1980. They were probably the very first video game teenagers since the Atari was released in 1977 when they were underclassmen in high school. They came of age during the rise of arcades, the Iran hostage crisis, the early 80's recession, 1980 election, death of John Lennon, inauguration and failed assassination of Ronald Reagan, etc. They are largely the children of the Hoover and FDR-born Silents, and the parents of the Reagan, Bush Sr., and Clinton-born Millennials, give or take.

Generation X = b. 1964-1980 (specifically, November 22, 1963 - January 20, 1981, a.k.a. Classes of 1982-1999)

Early Xers = b. 1964-1968 (specifically, November 22, 1963 - January 20, 1969, a.k.a. Classes of 1982-1987)
They were born in the mid-late 60's, after John F. Kennedy's assassination and during the Lyndon B. Johnson administration, at the peak of the Vietnam War. This group cusps with the Baby Boomers and is a lot more Gen X than Boomer. They are probably the first to not really remember the 60's decade, the peak cultural decade for the Boomers in every aspect (the 1970's was more quintessentially Baby Boomer in youth but childhood culture was Gen X-oriented). They were the main group of "70's kids" and the ones most nostalgic of their 70's childhood and 80's teenage years. Most of the 80's teen movies had actors in this cohort. They came of age during the early years of MTV, crack & AIDS epidemic, Iran-Contra affair, Challenger explosion, Cold War, etc. They are largely the children of the Hoover and FDR-born Silents, and the parents of the Bush Sr., Clinton-born Millennials, as well as the Bush Jr.-born Zoomers, give or take.

Core Xers = b. 1969-1976 (specifically January 20, 1969 - January 20, 1977, a.k.a. Classes of 1987-1995)
There are two cores: Core Xers I & Core Xers II.

Core Xers I = b. 1969-1974 (specifically, January 20, 1969 - August 9, 1974, a.k.a. Classes of 1987-1992)
They were mainly born in the early 70's during the Richard Nixon administration up until his resignation. This group has little to no remaining Boomer influence and are pretty solidly Gen X. Their main childhood was in the mid-late 70's and the early 80's, while having a nearly pure 80's adolescence. They were the first true video game generation as they grew up with the Atari as kids, played at arcades as tweens, and had the NES as teenagers. They were the main "Hair Metal, New Jack Swing, Grunge" teens of the mid-late 80's and very early 90's. They came of age during the tail end of the Cold War, fall of the Berlin War, collapse of the USSR, release of Nelson Mandela from prison and end of apartheid, beatings of Rodney King & LA riots, etc. They are largely children of the FDR-born Silents and the Truman-born Boomers, and the parents of the Clinton-born Millennials and Bush Jr.-born Zoomers, give or take.

Core Xers II = b. 1975-1976 (specifically, August 9, 1974 - January 20, 1977, a.k.a. Classes of 1992-1995)
They were born in the mid 70's during the Gerald Ford administration, after Nixon resigned. This group is the core representative of Generation X, similar to their Nixon-born counterparts. They have little to no Millennial traits, also very solidly Gen X. Their main childhood happened in the early Reagan era of the early 80's, and core teen years were in the early 90's, so they would have been the core Grunge teens. They came of age after the Cold War ended, during the WTC bombing, death of Kurt Cobain, etc. They are largely children of the FDR-born Silents and the Truman-born Boomers, and the parents of the Clinton-born Millennials and Bush Jr. Zoomers, give or take.

Late Xers = b. 1977-1980 (specifically, January 20, 1977 - January 20, 1981, a.k.a. Classes of 1995-1999)
They were born in the late 70's during the Jimmy Carter administration. This group cusps with Millennials, so they have major Millennial traits. They were the main "80's kids" and teenagers during the Grunge, flannel, Gangsta Rap, dark core 90's, and young adults in the late 90's/early 00's. They came of age during the OJ Simpson trials, launch of Windows 95, Tupac and Biggie assassinations, Princess Diana's death, Monica Lewinsky scandal, etc. They are largely the children of the Truman and Eisenhower-born Boomers, and the parents of the Bush Jr. and Obama-born Zoomers, give or take.

Millennials = b. 1981-2000 (specifically, January 20, 1981 - January 20, 2001, a.k.a. Classes of 1999-2019)

Early Millennials = b. 1981-1984 (specifically, January 20, 1981 - January 20, 1985, a.k.a. Classes 1999-2003)
They were born in the early 80's during the Ronald Reagan's first term. This group cusps with Gen X, so they have major X traits. They were the main late 80's & early 90's kids and teens of the late 90's. They never spent a day in high school without the internet (Windows 95) and were all in high school for Columbine & Y2K, some were even in high school during 9/11. They came of age during the Columbine shootings, Y2K, the new millennium (hence the term "Millennials"), 9/11, the start of the Iraq War, etc. They are largely the children of the Truman, Eisenhower, and JFK-born Boomers, and the parents of the Bush Jr. and Obama-born Zoomers, give or take.

Core Millennials = b. 1985-1996 (specifically, January 20, 1985 - January 20, 1997, a.k.a. Classes of 2003-2015)
There are three groups of Core Millennials: Core Millennials I, Core Millennials II, and Core Millennials III

Core Millennials I = b. 1985-1988 (specifically, January 20, 1985 - January 20, 1989, a.k.a. Classes of 2003-2007)
They were born in the mid-late 80's during Ronald Reagan's second term. This group has some leftover X traits, but too solidly Millennial to be on the cusp. They were the main group of "90's kids" that so embraced their childhoods in the 90's the most that they would brag about it online and helped form a lot of the 90's nostalgia from the late 00's to mid 10's before going mainstream. They were "Y2K era" early 00's and "MySpace era" core 00's teenagers who were the last to spend a good chunk of high school before social media blew up and the middle & high schoolers during 9/11. They came of age during the Iraq War, SARS pandemic, rise of social media, Hurricane Katrina, Pluto no longer labeled as a planet, etc. They are largely the children of the Truman, Eisenhower and JFK-born Boomers, and the parents of the Obama-born Zoomers, as well as the Trump-born Alpha, give or take.

Core Millennials II = b. 1989-1992 (specifically, January 20, 1989 - January 20, 1993, a.k.a. Classes of 2007-2011)
They were born in the early 90's during the George H.W. Bush administration. This group is the most quintessential Millennial cohort with absolutely no traits of neighboring generation. They were the younger "90's kids" that were a lot more gatekeepy with the "90's kid" label towards the younger 90's babies that didn't make the cutoff than their mid-late 80's born counterparts (even though they are more 90's kids than the early 90's borns). These were the peak emo teens of the mid-late 00's. They came of age during the Virginia Tech shooting, release of the iPhone, Great Recession, 2008 election, H1N1 pandemic, Iraq War, etc. They are largely the children of the Eisenhower and JFK-born Boomers, as well as the LBJ-born Xers, and the parents of the Obama-born Zoomers, as well as the Trump and future-born Alpha, give or take.

Core Millennials III = b. 1993-1996 (specifically, January 20, 1993 - January 20, 1997, a.k.a. Classes of 2011-2015)
They were born in the mid 90's during the first term of Bill Clinton. This group has some overlapping Z influence, but are still very strongly Millennial. They were the main early 2000's kids and were the last to remember any part of the 90's. They were the main scene and electropop teens of the early 2010's. They came of age during the Osama Bin Laden assassination, end of the Iraq War, Occupy Wall Street, 2012 election, Aurora & Sandy Hook shooting, 2012 apocalypse, smartphones going mainstream and fully accessible, peak of SJW movements, rise of ISIS & BLM, Ebola, etc. They are largely the children of the Eisenhower and JFK-born Boomers, as well as the LBJ and the Nixon/Ford Xers, and the parents of Generation Alpha, give or take.

Late Millennials = b. 1997-2000 (specifically, January 20, 1997 - January 20, 2001, a.k.a. Classes of 2015-2019)
They were born in the late 90's during the second term of Bill Clinton. This group cusps with Gen Z, and has some strong Z influence. They were the main "2000's kids" that don't remember the 90's at all and were preteens as the 2010's rolled around. They were the main core 2010's teens. They came of age during the legalization of gay marriage, backlash of BLM, rise of anti-SJW movements, 2016 election, Pulse & Parkland shooting, etc. They are largely the children of the Eisenhower and JFK-born Boomers, as well as the LBJ and the Nixon/Ford Xers, and the parents of Generation Alpha, give or take.

Generation Z = b. 2001-2017 (specifically, January 20, 2001 - January 20, 2017, a.k.a. Classes of 2019-2035)

Early Gen Z = b. 2001-2004 (specifically, January 20, 2001 - January 20, 2005, a.k.a. Classes of 2019-2023)
They were born in the early 00's during the first term of George W. Bush. This group cusps with Millennials and has some strong Millennial influence. They are the first to not be able to remember the early 00's (all Millennials have some memory of that era, even if it was super vague). They were the main late 2000's and early 2010's kids and the first group of kids totally removed from the 90's and 20th century (the oldest were technically conceived in the 20th century). They are all the first post-9/11 born generation (the oldest were alive before it, though). They are currently coming of age and the only major event so far is the coronavirus pandemic that shifted their school careers and lives forever, not just affecting them but people of all ages. They were largely the children of the LBJ, Nixon/Ford, and Carter-born Xers, as well as the Reagan-born Millennials, and the parents of Generation Alpha and beyond, give or take.

Core Gen Z = b. 2005-2012 (specifically, January 20, 2005 - January 20, 2013, a.k.a. Classes of 2023-2031)
There are two cores of Gen Z: Core Gen Z I & Core Gen Z II

Core Gen Z I = b. 2005-2008 (specifically, January 20, 2005 - January 20, 2009, a.k.a. Classes of 2023-2027)
They were born in the mid-late 00's during the second term of George W. Bush. This group is the first to really have ultimately no Millennial traits and are 100% Zoomer. They don't have any memory of the release of the iPhone, Great Recession, 2008 election, etc. They were the main 2010's kids, and are the last to have a 100%, full childhood experience prior to COVID-19, as they all turned 11 (where I end childhood at) in January 2020 and earlier, before the virus even came to the US (it was just in Wuhan, China at the time, so the US and almost the whole world was living in a pre-COVID environment), so they are the last true pre-COVID kids. They grew up on games like Minecraft, Roblox, etc., as well as being the first kids of Fortnite, despite their childhood being nearly over with at that point. They will come of age in the core of the 2020's but for now they are in their early teens as underclassmen in high school at best. They are largely the children of the LBJ, Nixon/Ford, and Carter-born Xers, as well as the Reagan-born Millennials, and the parents of Generation Alpha and beyond, give or take.

Core Gen Z II = b. 2009-2012 (specifically, January 20, 2009 - January 20, 2013, a.k.a. Classes of 2027-2031)
They were born in the early 10's during the first term of Barack Hussein Obama. This group is the last to have no remote Alpha traits and are 100% Zoomer. They grew up as kids in the late 2010's, and they were the last to spend a majority of their childhood pre-COVID19 but are the first to still witness childhood during it, though they are the older kids of it. They are the first core Fortnite kids, since they were all at peak childhood age as the game came out in 2017 and beyond. They don't have any memory of the Sandy Hook shooting, 2012 apocalypse but were born before it (the youngest weren't), a pre-ISIS world, etc. They are largely the children of the Carter-born Xers, as well as the Reagan and Bush Sr.-born Millennials, give or take.

Late Gen Z = b. 2013-2017 (specifically, January 20, 2013 - January 20, 2017, a.k.a. Classes of 2031-2035)
They were born in the mid 10's during the second term of Barack Hussein Obama. This group cusps with Gen Alpha, so they have major Alpha traits. They are growing up as kids currently throughout the early 2020's in a COVID-19 world. They are also core Fortnite kids but probably don't remember a world before it, neither do they remember a world before the legalization of gay marriage, the 2016 election, the Parkland shooting, etc. They might be the last to remember a pre-COVID19 world. They will all come of age a whole decade from now in the early 2030's. They are largely the children of the Carter-born Xers, as well as the Reagan and Bush Sr.-born Millennials, give or take.

Generation Alpha = b. 2017- most likely 2032 (specifically, January 20, 2017 - January 20, 2033, a.k.a. Classes of 2035-2051)

Early Alpha = b. 2017-2020 (specifically, January 20, 2017 - January 20, 2021, a.k.a. Classes of 2035-2039)
They were born in the late 10's and are still being born as of now during the first term of Donald J. Trump. Not much to say about them at all as the oldest just entered their childhood. They will not remember a pre-COVID world but most of them were born before it happened. They will be able to remember the aftermath and that is what makes them a new generation, as well as some other factors. They are largely the children of the Reagan, Bush Sr., and Clinton-born Boomers, give or take.

The Alpha kids born 2021+ are not even born yet and could possibly even be Biden babies instead of Trump babies 2.0.
So what do you think about this?

2020.09.25 20:58 Deathbringspasta The Odd Disappearance of Daniel Barter

To begin this story, we need to jump back in time to the year 1959, in Perdido Bay, Alabama. The date was June 18th, 1959, and the Barter family who lived in the 1700 block of Thrush Drive in the nearby city of Mobile, Alabama, were enjoying a camping trip in the Perdido Bay area. This trip consisted of Daniel Barter, his mother Maxine Barter, 3 of his 6 siblings, and one of his cousins. His other 3 siblings were staying with some relatives. This campsite was not much more than an hour from their home in Mobile.
Sometime between 9:30 and 10:00 a.m., While Daniel’s parents were preparing their fishing equipment for the day, Daniel would wander off from the rest of his family. At the time, he was carrying a bottle of Nehi soda around with him. Maxine Barter did not seem to notice Daniel’s absence until about 10 to 15 minutes later. She began searching for her son but could not locate him or any sign of him anywhere. Not long after this, authorities were called in and began a full search of the immediate area.
Now, what concerns me the most is the area Daniel went missing in. Being from the state of Florida, I have grown up in swampy areas my entire life. I even used to swim in them from time to time, stupid of me I know. Swampy areas not only hold many dangerous critters, but they have endless nooks and crannies for someone to fall into and never be heard from again. This specific swampy area in the Perdido Bay area is highly infested with alligators. The possibility of Daniel being attacked by one of these animals is unfortunately rather high. So much so that officials caught 2 alligators and cut them open, but to no avail.
Multiple groups of civilian volunteers came together to search the area, walking shoulder to shoulder in groups of 25. They did this in a 5-mile radius of the area and combed it extensively, looking for any sign of Daniel. This massive group peaked at around 2,000 people, including 300 members of the local US Navy and military bases and over 150 law enforcement officers and firemen from Alabama, Florida, and other close states.
Bloodhounds and other scent dogs were brought in to search the area as well as Jeeps, helicopters, horses, and more, but again nothing would be found. Not even the Nehi soda bottle was ever found. Somehow, this 4-year-old boy simply vanished into thin air, never to be seen again. Divers searched from the top of the bay down into the swampy areas, finding nothing once again.
The bottom of the lake was dragged, and sinkholes and thickets were searched thoroughly. Authorities hoped that in doing this they may jar out a body that could be stuck on the bottom. Dynamite was even tossed in areas he may have fallen as well. This sounds a bit extreme to me, but I guess I would not be the authority on that.
According to Daniel’s mother, Maxine Barter, Daniel did not like the water, and she does not think he would have gone into the bay by himself. The bay was exceptionally shallow at that time of day, you could walk a considerable distance without getting all that wet. The brush around the family’s campsite was very thick and prickly. Daniel was only wearing a pair of shorts at the time with no shoes. The Barter family does not believe he would have gone into the bushes either.
After over a week of tirelessly searching the area which turned up little to nothing, officials decided it was unlikely Daniel walked into the water or woods around them on his own. This was one of the most intensive searches ever conducted in Baldwin County history. Authorities began to investigate the likelihood of this being an abduction. They were never able to find any clues or evidence supporting this theory though. The Barter family was not a wealthy one and they never received any sort of ransom note or message. Making a motive of ransom unlikely.
Things would only grow to be stranger from here on out though. According to Daniel’s mother, roughly a month or so before Daniel would disappear, she claims to have seen a mysterious unknown vehicle parked in front of their house. Maxine would allegedly approach the car and attempt to confront the driver. She said a man was driving and he immediately covered his face with a newspaper and drove off. To make this claim a bit more valid, a neighbor of the Barter family claims they saw a man acting strangely and peering into the window of the room Daniel and his brothers slept in. The neighbor would mention this to Maxine, and they investigated the place the man had been standing. The man, of course, was gone but he had left footprints in the dirt under the window.
They would call the police who came and photographed the footprints and took casts of them. Since this was nearly 60 years ago, it is unclear if this evidence even exists anymore. I do want to mention, that even though this case is old, there is still a chance we can help progress it. While I do not have the highest hopes that justice will be brought here, I do still think it is unbelievably valuable to keep the memory and story of Daniel Barter going. If only as a cautionary tale for parents out there.
The last thing I would like to mention in the timeline of strange happenings is that on the morning of Daniel’s disappearance, Maxine drove him and one of his brothers to the store. She parked and went inside, leaving the boys in the car. While she was gone, an unknown man drove up next to the Barter’s car and stared at the boys for an uncomfortable amount of time. Then the man suddenly drove away without speaking a word to them. Daniel’s brother would tell Maxine about this encounter when she returned to the car.
Due to this odd sequence of events, the Barters heavily suspect that someone had been stalking the family for some time, with intentions to abduct Daniel. Unfortunately, the case would go cold and would fall inactive until just recently. Nearly 50 years after Daniel disappeared his case was reopened in 2008. That was 12 years ago, and we are still in desperate need of help to bring justice to Daniel. Many of the original case files have been lost or destroyed in the last 6 decades. Making this that much harder to piece together. I have seen cases with less info be solved recently though, so I do have faith that Daniel Barter may have his day of justice.
I have found several theories online and in articles as to what happened to Daniel. I will briefly touch on a few of these theories. The main theory is of course that Daniel was abducted by an unknown suspect. Due to the timeline shared by the family, this is the strongest belief. A second theory and one of the early theories of this case is that Daniel accidentally drowned in the Perdido Bay. Even though the family heavily refutes this as he did not like the water. But the tides were incredibly low and easy enough for a toddler to walk a fair distance without getting very wet at all. The third theory is that Daniel may have gotten lost while walking around the area of the campsite. Since the brush was so thick, it would not be impossible that Daniel got turned around and became lost. But, since the area was searched so thoroughly, this is unlikely. The fourth and final theory I will be touching on is the idea that Daniel may have been attacked and possibly eaten by an alligator. Now, this is a bit extreme but, in an area, with several alligators, this is not unfathomable. Multiple large gators were hunted in the area and gutted, but no evidence of human remains was found.
Sadly, Daniel’s father died in 1965 and his mother followed in 1995. Both never knowing what truly happened to their son. All the siblings that were alive during the disappearance are still alive and that he is still out there and hope the case will be resolved one day. In 2009, the family returned to the campsite to remember their missing brother and dedicated a half-century mission to find him.
Daniel Barter went missing from the Perdido Bay, Alabama area on June 18th, 1959. He was just four years of age at the time and was last seen wearing grey boxer shorts and carrying a bottle of Nehi soda. He was 3 feet tall and weighed 50 pounds at the time of his disappearance. His hair his brown and so are his eyes, he has scars on his fingers and one on his tongue. His case is currently labeled as a non-family abduction and if he is still alive, he would be 64 years old. If you or anyone you may know have any information on this case, please send in your tips to Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, 251-972-8589. You can always remain anonymous.

Can Blockchain Gaming Drive Cryptocurrency Adoption?
The gaming industry, with its approximately 2.5 billion gamers worldwide, is a lucrative target and an immense field of application for blockchain itself, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies that could no doubt give a mighty push toward taking and making the technology mainstream. Honestly, this is not quite a news as the efforts to establish cryptocurrencies in the entertainment sector have gone a long way, with varying degrees of success.
by StealthEX
What they were, how it fared, and where things are going now – these questions deserve their own inquiry. So let’s take a look at how gaming facilitates cryptocurrency adoption, in what ways, and whether exposing the blockchain tech to a user base of a third of the world’s population would help oil the wheels of this sportster in a major way and ultimately cause a tectonic shift in the gaming industry itself.

A Little Bit of History

As Bitcoin kicked off in late 2008, with its first transaction hitting, or effectively starting, the blockchain in early January of 2009, it had taken well over two years till the cryptocurrency got involved in online gambling. It was the now-defunct mobile poker platform, Switchpoker, a developer of an online poker room that started to accept Bitcoin as a deposit and payment option. You can still find a topic on Bitcointalk.org about this news dated back to November 23, 2011.
In April 2012, Erik Voorhees, an American entrepreneur and early Bitcoin adopter, founded Satoshi Dice, arguably the oldest online cryptocasino on the block, which is still pretty much alive today, although Voorhees sold it in a year. What makes it truly intriguing is the fact that during its early years the casino was generating half of all the transactions on the Bitcoin network. In short, online gambling was critically important in Bitcoin’s infancy years as it helped promote cryptocurrency awareness that led to future growth and expansion into other areas.
Some folks are certainly going to argue that gambling is not the same thing as gaming. The commonly accepted view is that gaming is based on skill while gambling on chance. We won’t debate over this point. However, as every poker player knows, the outcome of a poker game depends not only on luck, but also on skill and expertise. Put simply, there are large gray areas and overlaps. All things considered, our exposition would be missing a big chunk of significant history without giving due credit to gambling and how it helped Bitcoin adoption.
Now that online gambling is off our chest, we can safely turn to gaming as it is understood in the industry, and look at how it helped the blockchain space. One of the first uses of Bitcoin in a major game that we are aware of started in 2014 with the launch of BitQuest, a Minecraft server that used Bitcoin for in-game transactions. Within the gaming environment you could buy valuable in-game stuff from other users with the so-called bits, small fractions of a Bitcoin, and earn them by completing in-game tasks or challenges like killing local monsters.
BitQuest closed the server in summer of 2019, and its brand name now belongs to a different entity not involved with gaming, but it still produced an impact. In essence, this effort successfully demonstrated how a cryptocurrency, in this case Bitcoin, can be used in lieu of a native in-game currency that players can earn, buy and spend as well as withdraw. This has serious implications for two main reasons. First, Bitcoin, unlike any other purely in-game currency, has uses outside the game and its ecosystem, and, second, its supply cannot be manipulated by the game developers, which makes the game by far more fair and square.
Needless to say, the example that BitQuest had set encouraged other market participants to look into Bitcoin as an alternative option for in-game currencies. Another popular Minecraft server, PlayMC, also introduced Bitcoin into its world in 2015, but ceased the operation just two years later. There were a few other servers experimenting with altcoins, more specifically, Dogecoin, but most of them disappeared from the scene shortly thereafter, failing to attract enough die-hard Minecraft fans.

What Has Changed?

With the arrival of smart contract-enabled blockchains such as Ethereum, EOS and TRON, the phrase “blockchain gaming” has taken on a more literal meaning as these blockchains allow games to be designed and played entirely on-chain in much the same manner trades are made on a decentralized exchange. While TRON stands for “The Real-time Operating system Nucleus”, there is an obvious reference to a once popular arcade game based on a titular 1982 science fiction film that ultimately garnered a cult following.
CryptoKitties is likely the most popular game ever released in the Ethereum ecosystem and probably in the whole crypto space so far. Its test version was made available on October 19, 2017, and it was an instant success. By the end of 2017 over 200,000 people signed up for the game, spending over $20 million in Ether. We won’t delve into its “gameplay” as it is beyond the scope of this article, and most certainly you are well familiar with it anyway. But what we absolutely should write about is the effect it made and the repercussions it produced.
It could be said that CryptoKitties was to the Ethereum blockchain what Satoshi Dice had been to Bitcoin in the early days of crypto. At the peak of its popularity the game reportedly accounted for 20-25% of all Ethereum’s traffic that clogged the entire Ethereum network, with transaction fees skyrocketing. No wonder lots of people got pissed off with this turn of events. However, despite all the rage and fury, CryptoKitties amply demonstrated what a success means in the blockchain gaming field, how it looks and feels in practice.
It is hard to estimate how much CryptoKitties contributed to cryptocurrency adoption. But given that a few hundred thousand people got involved in this game alone and many more with dozens of blockchain games that it has spawned, like Etherbots, Gods Unchained, The Six Dragons, etc, this indisputable triumph surely counts as a massive contribution by any definition or metric. Moreover, it also revealed the weaknesses of the contemporary blockchain solutions and what exactly should be done to overcome them.
Evolution never goes linearly. In fact, it generally doesn’t go in curves, circles, or zig zags, either. It always moves along very diverse routes, directions and entire dimensions like plants and animals, viruses and bacteria, and, well, dinosaurs and mammals. The evolution of gaming in crypto space is no different. СryptoKitties and other games share essentially the same tech under the hood – building games on some advanced general-purpose blockchain such as Ethereum. But it is not the only front that crypto gaming has been advancing on, nor is it the only way to introduce gaming to cryptocurrencies, and vice versa.
A more recent approach is based on designing either a standalone cryptocurrency or a token on a smart contract-enabled blockchain to be used across many games that support it as an in-game currency. As a result, gamers can enjoy true ownership of their in-game assets (the so-called non-fungible tokens, or NFTs), safe item trading outside the game, and cross-game compatibility. This path has been taken by such projects as Enjin (ENJ), GAME Credits (GAME), Decentraland (MANA), WAX (WAXP) and others, with their respective cryptocurrencies fueling a range of games.
A somewhat different avenue is taken by Funfair (FUN), Chromia (CHR) and Lucid Sight, which are offering platforms that blockchain games can be built on. Thus, Lucid Sight’s Scarcity Engine is focused more on game creators than end users, that is to say, gamers, allowing developers to integrate blockchain into their games. It aims to obliterate the difference between blockchain-based games and traditional gaming platforms. Funfair, on the other hand, leans more toward creating custom-built blockchain casinos, with its FUN token as a casino “chip”. So much for no more gambling, huh.
Our account of events would be incomplete if we didn’t mention yet another attempt to make use of Minecraft for the purpose of introducing cryptocurrencies to the gaming public. This time, a new Minecraft mod called SatoshiQuest has emerged. To participate in it, the gamers pay $1 in Bitcoin and get one in-game life. The pooled coins make up the loot, and the challenge is to find a minimum of 400 key fragments into which the keys to the Bitcoin wallet containing the prize are divided. And who said that evolution doesn’t loop?

Challenges and Future Prospects

The knockout popularity of СryptoKitties has clearly shown the scale of cryptocurrency mass adoption that blockchain gaming can trigger. As the game developers themselves put it, their “goal is to drive mainstream adoption of blockchain technology”. They believe that “the technology has immense benefits for consumers, but for those benefits to be realized, it needs to be experienced to be understood”. Speaking more broadly, as more people start using cryptocurrencies for gaming, they may eventually become interested in using their coins for purposes other than playing one game or another.
With that said, it is now as clear that there are two main barriers on the way there. The first is the limitations of the blockchain tech itself that essentially limits blockchain gaming to NFTs, in-game currencies, streamlined payments, and similar stuff. This is mostly a technical challenge anyway, and we could realistically expect it to be solved sooner or later. The other issue is applicable to the gaming industry as a whole. People en masse would only play games that are truly engaging and immersive, technical issues aside.
So the bottom line is that we need the convergence of these two vectors to make blockchain a dominating force in the gaming industry. First, the blockchain tech should have the capacity for running multiplayer games that major video game developers like Blizzard, Valve and Ubisoft produce, no trade-offs here. Then, we actually need the games like Warcraft, Counter-Strike or Far Cry that can be played on blockchain, to make it matter. Only after we get there, the gaming industry will likely become a primary driver behind cryptocurrency adoption.

2020.09.23 08:54 MothOfTyrants Mix practice is essential! Im an idiot!

I've been going IN this year learning to track, mix, etc....ive been a touring musician more than half my life and have been to multiple studios and watched some masterminds in the box, both local and professional! Joey Sturgis back in 2008, JST Tones prestigious head honcho... Jamie King in late 2009 from NC, highly praised as one of the best in metal for years with good reason! Give or take an album or so, he has done Between the Buried and Mes entire discography. 90 percent of what I knew going into music production, I learned over the shoulder of those two honkies. They introduced me to my greatest passion to date, I love tracking, mixing, sound design, etc ....its euphoric to me and its borderline unhealthy how much I've been immersed in this scene. Big props to everyone on this reddit, ive learned so much here and love you all for answering questions, no matter how trivial they may seem in your shoes. The community is incredible <3
But enough Peter Puffin....I didn't come here to ramble forever. Just to comment that I recently found numerous multitrack websites through this reddit, and I've been so involved in creating my own music and just having fun with friends over the past year that I overlooked the opportunities and definitely didn't realize the benefits I'd been passing up.
To anyone stuck in a rut with original material or just hitting roadblocks in general in your pursuit of greatness...find some multitracks online and get lost in foreign material ASAP! It opened my eyes, Ive not had a chance to truly apply much of the knowledge ive gained over the past few months, opening my own template and recording two guitar tracks and programming bass and drums over and over again. It seems common sense, but im sure alot like myself, overlook the opportunity. Its easy to get overwhelmed, but once you drop into a session im sure everyone of us will have fun and learn from our own actions.
Cambridge Multitracks is the site I went to, all free, many genres and bands to choose from. There is something for us all. Friendly reminder to give it a try, and take my enthusiasm to try and convince you all to try it as reason enough to dive in if skeptical. Im rejuvenated its like I hit the reset button and can look from many different angles. Thanks to everyone and whoever it was that pointed out this website...you all kick ass. HMU if you're looking for someone to bounce ideas off of and write some originals. DM me anytime, I need new homies to jam with

2020.09.22 12:12 achillesscar Fictional children's coming of age drama novel, written in a diary entry style, about 6ish teenage girls. Each chapter was a diary entry from a different girl's perspective.

It was the NICEST book I've ever had. The cover was hot pink and it had an elastic band closure on it, like how some fancy journals do. And it had a really nice pink diamond on the cover where the title was, the diamond was heart shaped, if that helps. The book was about these 5-7 best friends, and it was a journal entery style book, like diary of a whimpy kid, or dork diaries. But each chapter was an entry from a different friend.
Two of the friends were twins, and one story that stuck with me the most was the one where one of the two twins got jealous (I remember her name, her name was Roxanne but they called her Roxy) of her sister, who to her seemed to be over all more liked and lucky in life, so she wore her sisters clothes and went on a date with her sister's boyfriend. And then later in the story they had this big school play or something, and the twin that was casted as the lead (this is the one with the boyfriend) got sick so Roxy (who was playing a background character or an understudy or something) filled in for her, and the two sisters made up after that. I also remember the twins had a small white dog, and Roxy didnt like it because it shed hair on her clothes but the other one did, and so did her boyfriend, he had a big shaggy English sheep dog, and they would walk their dogs together. Another spesific but minute detail I remember is that their school didnt allow makeup, so on the day of the auditions for the play Roxy was getting ready in the mirror in her locker and she put on very faint makeup that consisted of clear lipgloss and maybe a hint of blush. She also pulled her hair up in a ponytail in that particular scene. And now I'm not sure if I'm remembering correctly but I think each character had different handwriting and some of them doodled in the margins and they had different writing styles so it really felt like there were different people writing, and there were illustrations too. Other than Roxy I dont remember anyone's name (the boyfriend's name might have been Ben). And while I've only described stories about the twins, there were other chapters about their other friends, the entire book wasn't centred around the twins, those are just the stories I rememeber well enough to put into words. I also rememeber the twins had short, blonde a-line bob hair cuts.
I don't remember the title or the author's name, however I had the book in 2010-11, and I'm not sure if I bought it brand new from a normal bookstore or if I found it nestled in an old, secondhand bookstore, so I cant say if I bought it the year it was published or not. However, it was a hardback, (it didnt have a paper dust jacket) and also the content inside was very up to date, so it couldn't have been published more than a couple of years before 2010, so it probably didn't come out before 2008. It wasnt a part of a series, at least it not to my knowledge. Also if it helps I'm pretty sure the words 'secret' 'diary' 'bff' and 'best friends' were a part of the title.
I've asked all my friends and I've spent hours trying to find it on Google with vauge terms, but to no avail. I know it sounds like every other book aimed at tweens at the time, but the book meant a lot to me and was probably one of my greatest assets as a child. I really want to try and get a hold of a copy now, or at least be able to look it up online. I'd really appreciate your help! :)

2020.09.21 17:45 GaznaThePug [REQUEST] [STEAM] Monster Hunter World Iceborne DLC (30% off on DLGamer [$27.99]) (6th attempt)

Hello everyone. I am Gazna. I live in the Philippines, and I am here (for my 6th attempt) hoping for a chance to receive a game like many others. For my request, I was hoping for Monster Hunter World Iceborne DLC (just the dlc, I already own the main game).
Now why do I want this game's dlc? Let me tell a story, I'll try to keep it short. This dates back in 2008. During this time I got my very own PSP (Playstation Portable for those who didn't know). I was super happy when I got a psp because I could play anywhere. I bought many different games, my most notable games back then were Crisis Core FFVII, Twisted Metal, and Tekken Dark Resurrection. Eventually I finished most of my games and tried to search for something new. Then I found this game, called Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G (with a slight English patch). I have no idea what this game was about except for one thing, you hunt monsters most likely. So I bought and tried, and then I eventually realized how great this game was. You can do so much in this game. For armor and weapons, you don't just buy armor or weapons (though you can but all you can buy are those bone armor and weapon), but you have to craft them by seeking its required materials. And its not even a full armor set, each piece of armor need different materials. For the locales, there are all so vast. First was the Snowy Mountains, where you can literally climb the entire mountain. Then there's the Jungle, where there's literally an island separate from the jungle itself you can visit. There are many more locations like the Volcano, Hills, etc. Next was the difficulty of the game. The game doesn't even tell you what the monsters' weakness are or even what they look like until your very first encounter. You'd think you're already fine just going up Snowy Mountains with your armor but no, you would either need drink a Hot Drink or wear something with Cold Resistance. There's also your stamina that eventually drops from it maximum amount if you don't eat steak or rations.
There are so much more I want to tell, like the Sinking Feeling quest where you first encounter Tigrex, and the 2 Rajang mission in the training area. But long story short, this game was absolutely amazing and it easily became one of my most favorite games of all time. I eventually got the full English ver (renamed as Monster Hunter Freedom Unite) and the sequel Monster Hunter Portable 3rd and of course Monster Hunter Word. Monster Hunter World on its own was absolutely amazing. The game is super realistic, there are all new locales, monsters, and my favorite part, the return of old monster (now Fatalis is returning too!). You could say Monster Hunter was probably one of the games that made me what I am today (it sounds like too much but its true).
Now why can't I buy this dlc. To be honest I had money to buy this game but things happened, let me explain. I believe it was back in March-April 2020 (when Safi Jiva was being released), the dlc had a sale (I think it was 15-20% off). I was happy and sad at the same time. I was happy cause I was able to save up enough during Dec-Mar 2020 to buy this dlc, but I was also sad. I was sad because a few days before they announced the sale the quarantines have started. We were all scared back then to even leave our homes so like many others I stayed home. Now how does staying home tie to me not being able to buy the dlc when its on Steam and not a physical game? Well it was because all the game I bought on Steam were using Steam wallet codes. Those codes also happen to be physical card codes that I buy from a video game retail store. At the time as well, I do not have any PayPal or atm/credit cards to buy anything online. I always rely on steam wallet codes to buy steam games.
After a couple months have passed, all the money I saved up were used to buy groceries and paying bills. Though I have bought something for myself a few weeks ago (Shadowkeep, a Destiny 2 expansion), it was literally the only thing I was able to buy this year. The last gaming related thing I was able to buy was Shadow of the Tomb Raider, back in Dec. 2019. My parents also do not give me anymore pocket money mainly because we need to focus all expenses on food and bills to pay.
That is all I can say for now. To the people who read through this all, sorry for taking too much of your time especially when I said I'll try to keep it short (I tried I promise). And if there will be a person out there who would fulfill this request, from the bottom of my heart thank you.

2020.09.20 21:03 Mistresspreslie Why sex workers support Donald Trump

Interesting isn't it?🧐
Republicans are conservative, that's just a fact. And sex workers are just . . . Not. Lol! A conservative sex worker is one who conceals their face while posting naughty pictures online.
But why do so many sex workers lean towards President Trump versus Joe Biden?
I was a stripper for nine years, now running an onlyfans site & online webcamming. Throughout my whole career I have been a diehard Republican.
I am from New Jersey which is a very liberal state, but I do come from a Republican county. The area I live in has a lot of wealth and they don't want to see more of it go to taxes. So that has always stuck with me, Democrats will raise taxes. Even if they raised property taxes last year, they will raise them again this year
I started dancing in 2011 under the Obama administration. I was 18 years old when I started, and all of the "older" strippers had told me that before the recession they were killing it. Once the recession hit they had to fight to make money. At this time in 2011 things were slowly getting better. People were getting out of that recession mentality; "save every penny because you could lose your job tomorrow." But the industry had no way recovered to pre-2008 standards.
I had gotten really lucky. I was 18 years old "fresh meat" and I was going to make money just because I was the new girl. But I watched a lot of girls struggle to make $200 on a weekend night that should bring in $600+ easily.
I had two good summers, in 2012 and 2013. I was a new face, I was still a "teen," like I said, "fresh meat" sells better. 2014 was horrible! I was only 21 years old and it was an awful summer, no one was making money. The Jersey shore was dead, rentals were empty. Hurricane Sandy hit in November 2012, most businesses were back up and running in the summer of 2013. Some had yet to reopen in 2013, but by the summer of 2014 All of the businesses had re-opened, all of the rentals have been fixed and open for business. But only half were booked ON WEEKENDS. Weekdays were absolutely dead. Our club being 3 miles from the beach relied heavily on this summer traffic. During 2014 there waa no difference between summer and winter. Both were the same, disappointing. Many of my friends were struggling, needing to work 6 days a week just to get by.
2015 got a little bit better, but not much. And then a big change came in 2016.
2016 was an election year, and yes strippers talk politics. Now 23 years old and dancing for five years I was already a veteran. I was one of the highest earners at the club and people would often come to me for money making advice. I also love talking politics, history, and proving people wrong; so the dressing room hosted A LOT of political debates. "Welcome to debate club, strippers edition." 😂
A lot of the new, younger girls were very excited about Hillary Clinton running for President. They were hoping that she would win, that she would legalize marijuana, that she would "change" this country. But the girls who had been dancing for years, the girls who were making a lot of money. . . They were all for candidate Trump.
"Why would you vote for Trump?" Was a question I was frequently asked.
"Trump wants to make abortion illegal!" "Trump will never legalize marijuana!" Those were the biggest complaints about Trump.
As for abortion, I believe the woman has the right to choose. But I also know politics. I know that Trump is from New York and he's not super conservative, he is not from the Bible belt, he is never going to waste his time making abortions illegal in this country. He knows they are a necessary evil. But will he say he is against it? Absolutely, he needs to please those ultra conservative voters. Something A LOT OF PEOPLE don't understand.
As for marijuana, I think we need the extra revenue so that the Democrats could spend it. But would Hillary Clinton have been able to make it legal with a Republican controlled Senate. (And house at the time I believe). . I don't think so.
And like I stated the girls who were making a lot of money, who had invested in other businesses and were getting ready to retire, or who had owned real estate. . . They were all voting for Trump.
"The Trump girls," did not want to pay more money in taxes in a very high tax state. They wanted to be able to use their extra income to invest in other opportunities, to invest in their kids college education, or go to school themselves. Of course the younger Clinton voters weren't even claiming taxes, so they didn't care how much she raised our taxes. They wanted to collect more welfare because their income was totally off the books.
President Trump ended up winning the election, and very quickly Something Happened. The stock market started going up. As mentioned, we are from a republican wealthy county in New Jersey. A lot of these men work in New York on Wall Street, or are heavily invested in the market. Once the stock market went up, the club was popping! The winter of 2016-2017 was amazing. People felt more secure to spend money, Guys had no problem dropping $3,4,500 in the VIP room. We finally had a huge shower of singles on stage for the first time in forever. And this was only the winter.
Summer 2017 came and it was my best summer ever. It was my best summer even though by mid august I was barely working as I was suffering horrible morning sickness when I got pregnant with my first child. $1500 could be made in 2-3 hours on a weekend night. If you got really lucky it could be made as a tip in a 15 minute VIP room. 2017 was the summer of money!
My life took a turn however. After I had my son I really didn't work that much. I would go in one or two days a month. But it was still enough for me to be able to buy my very first apartment! If I had worked like that during the Obama years, I would have been struggling to pay rent. However I was paying a mortgage and saving money.
I basically call myself semi-retired now. And now I am entering my third trimester with my second baby. But from august 2017-january 2020 on a two day a month schedule, I was able to save enough money to put a down payment on a bigger home.
The taxes in this state are ridiculous, and we will never vote in a Republican governor to lower our taxes. But the last thing I need is higher federal taxes.
Instead of debating The legalization of marijuana, I am now having debates about college education for my kids. Why wouldn't I vote for Joe Biden who believes in free college education? I am going to have two children to put through college. And that answer is very simple. My kids are young. I have 15 1/2 more years to save for my older son and I started saving for him a week after he was born. Even if I only put away $2000 a year, he will have $36,000 once he turns 18; enough to pay for his first year. Invested in the S&P 500 that could easily be $70,000. What if I have a good year and I could invest another thousand dollars?
Joe Biden wants to give us free community college which is what? 5K a year? Even if he did make four year colleges free, would they be only state schools? Im sure private schools wouldn't be free. At rutgers the current tuition in-state is about $10,000/year. 4 years would be $40,000. With what I am saving right now, I would only be $4000 short of covering all four years of college. That is not calculating gains from the market.
But what if my taxes were raised another $2000 a year? That money would be going to the government instead of saving for my son. What if he increased taxes to 50%? Not only would I not be able to save money for my kids I wouldn't be able to save money for short term goals.
I recently became an only fans creator, taking advantage of my pregnancy and the fetish industry. Some of these woman are making $300,000+ a year. I have been much more successful in a month than I ever thought I would.
My reason for starting this work was to help my husband fund our home renovation. I thought I would be able to help with little things, but now I am going to be able to help with bigger things and save money for my kids college fund.
As I am learning more about the online sex worker industry, I see all of the expenses these girls have. They need to buy good cameras and film equipment. Constantly on their phones, you need good service and a lot of data. New content is a must for success, hence new outfits, backdrops, toys, props, and shoes for the foot fetish guys!
All of the money needs to be claimed INCLUDING tips. It's not like being a stripper where the majority of your money goes unclaimed, in fact it can't even be tracked because it's cash tipped to you behind a closed VIP room curtain. Every dime an Only Fans creator makes is carefully logged and must be claimed at the end of the year. And let's not forget Only Fans takes 20% of your earnings off the top, to run their website and because of the high fees credit card companies charge because it is considered a "high risk industry."
So creators lose 20% off the top. I would say they easily spend 10% of their income on work related expenses for making their content better. Some pay for promotions so that their pages grow faster. Others NEED assistants or hire other experts. We employ a lot of other people! But 30% is gone right away.
Then you have to pay taxes, depending on your state and your tax bracket it could be as little as 15% and as much as 40%! Let's say we need to pay 25% in taxes just like a lot of people. That's 55% of our money gone.
Let's say you're doing pretty well on only fans making $5000 a month, $60,000/year. $12,000 you'll never even see. $6000 goes towards all of the expenses and is tax deductible. And now you have to pay taxes on $42,000. $10,500 (25%) and $16,800(40%) doesn't seem like a big difference, but it is when you put in so much hard work. Imagine making $60,000 but only having $25,000 to show for it after taxes. It makes it not even worth it.
Even if you're working 12 hours a day/7 days a week and making $200,000/year on Only fans, having less than $100,000 in your pocket at the end of the day is complete BS!
Some might ask, why not switch sites? Live cam sites take 40% or more of your money! If you're a stay at home mom like me, you can't stream live on camera while your kid is home or awake.
So now that I got into the financials of online sex work, you can understand why so many sex workers support President Trump. Unlike a regular job, we have to pay a fee just to make money. We don't want our taxes raised on top of it!
Then there are the customers. We rely on customers to put their credit card into a Onlyfans, and spend anywhere from $3 to $20 a month on a creator's subscription profile.
Despite many people losing their jobs because of Covid, the site has been busier than ever. Instead of going out to clubs, movies, or taking girls on dates, guys have been going on dates with their favorite online sex worker. but not everybody is able to do that at the moment.
If you are struggling, if you can't pay your bills, you're not going to be spending money on online porn, let's be real. Covid and the impact it has had on jobs is not the Presidents' fault. I'm thinking back to that horrible summer of 2014 when Obama was in office. How slow would Only Fans be if this was 2014. With so many extra creators trying to make money because they also have lost jobs, there would be very few girls making big money, and the majority making nothing. Right now you have a lot of girls making a lot of money, a lot of girls making a decent living, and just a few making pennies.
I think President Trump has given customers confidence that the economy is going to turn around, that jobs are going to come back. He has also given them an amazing economy over the past few years that has allowed people to fill their savings accounts. We are not in the "save every penny mentality," that I saw in 2011 when things were recovering from a big recession.
That's Another reason many sex workers support Trump. He gives clients the confidence to spend their hard earned money.
There are many issues that sex workers do not agree with Republicans on. The biggest I could think of is abortion & the woman's right to choose. Prostitution is another big one, especially for me. I would love to see legal prostitution in New Jersey one day! I would be so proud if my son could own New Jersey's first legal brothel. The reasons why I support LEGAL prostitution is a totally different argument, but Republicans would never support that! Yet I still side with Republicans.
We side with Republicans because we want to have better lives not only for ourselves but for our children. And in this country you need money to have a better life. You need money to move from a tiny two bedroom apartment into a simple townhouse. You need money to invest in your children's future so they don't need to be sex workers. You need money to invest in another business so you don't need to sext all day long. And you need money if you want to clear your head and take a vacation or go to the spa for a day! And that money does better in the hands of individual citizens to choose what they want to do with it, versus in the hands of the government!
If you have the "guts" to be a sex worker you should be compensated. It is a huge industry that makes billions of dollars, and provides jobs for millions of people. (and I say GUTS because not everyone can have the confidence to go online and show their body to strangers. Not everyone could act. Not everyone could stand tall and tell the world, I send nude videos for a living.)
I could stand tall and say it! I am a sex worker! I work really hard for my money! I show my body on camera to random men, and I'm good at it! And I don't want Joe Biden to come in and raise taxes under the farce of "free college." I don't need Joe Biden to make everyday working men lose confidence in our economy. And I certainly don't need to spend priceless time to decipher what the hell Joe Biden is trying to say to me (sorry I had to add that! 😂) And if the day ever comes that I decide I don't want to do this work anymore, I know President Trump has made the economy great and could make it even better, allowing me to find another well-paying job to support my family.

2020.09.20 17:46 360Entertainment Jerome, the World’s Greatest... Bada***

Jerome, the World’s Greatest... Bad A**!
I had a friend in the Army between 2008-2011 (same time as Karen the Sergeant) that I’ll dub Jerome. He was one of the most hilarious guys I’d ever met, problem was he wasn’t hilarious on purpose! The guy was constantly self deluded as he truly believed he was a physical specimen of unprecedented knowledge and charisma. He was not! At best Jerome was slightly chubby, usually had bad B.O., and rarely knew what he was talking about.
Jerome fancied himself some kind of kickboxer. He’d go on about his various accomplishments in the sport on a regular basis. I don’t want to call him a liar outright but the only “proof”, if you can call it that, was his proficiency in toe punching people in the shin, then claim it was a distraction technique. Only other “skills” I’ve seen him display was landing several high combos in a Street Fighter II tournament!
A few stories of Jerome’s “combat prowess” and “weapons knowledge” come to mind. The first one doesn’t even really start out as a confrontation but definitely ended with one. A group of us had decided to go to the opening of a new Sports bar in Killeen called Pluckers. There was a little something for everyone there: family dining, bar area for mingling, pool table and darts, and guitar hero set up on a large screen for competitions.
Our usual crew consisted of me, Jerome, Jerome’s Roomate Downlow (me and him actually wrestled professionally together in a minor league around that time, Downlow was his Ringname), and my roommate Bayou Bill (he was from Louisiana, we’ll call him BB for short).
A little backstory, Downlow and Jerome did not get along. Jerome actually had a bad habit of creeping on Downlow’s many dates. It eventually got to the point that when BB moved out of the barracks (the room was still technically his, he just got an apartment with his Girlfriend) and Downlow moved into my room. I kept my space and didn’t bug him when he had a date and we’d game on my Xbox when we had nothing better to do!
Back to the story. Downlow and I were playing pool when this obviously underage girl came up and started flirting with him. Downlow knew what I knew and just ignored her, but wasn’t rude. Classy guy! Meanwhile I was on my third Jameson and Coke and was picking on her. I insinuating she was underage (“so how old are you? 15? 16?...12?) and eventually left. I didn’t think we’d see Short Girl again.
Fast forward to next week. We decided on a sit down meal and went to Bennigans. Our usual group, plus a few more, end up there. Jerome spoke up and said,” oh by the way, I invited someone!” We didn’t think anything of it but I’m sure you’ve probably figured it out. As we’re ordering drinks we hear a young woman’s voice ask “hey guys, remember me?” We turn around and there’s the Short Girl from Pluckers.
Jerome pulled out the chair next to him with a big ol grin on his face. She walked past him and squeezed herself between me and Downlow. As she is trying to warm herself up to Downlow, I went right back to clowning on her. It didn’t take long before she admitted she was only 16!
Downlow then stood up, causing Short Girl to fall on me because she was practically sitting on him and proclaim he was done. Downlow and I then left the restaurant. We proceeded to stop at the Class 6 to buy some bottom shelf vodka (payday was next week), some soda, and ordered a pizza. We then went to Downlow’s room, this was before he moved into my room, and we intended to watch Kung fu movies and get drunk.
About 30 minutes into Seven Swords in comes Jerome with Short Girl. He began to demand that we leave so he could “get lucky”. In Texas the legal age is 16, but Fort Hood falls under federal guidelines and the age of consent is 18. On top of this anytime Downlow brought a date over Jerome would constantly bug them, even trying to steal Downlow’s dates. Jerome demanding we leave was kind of ironic in this aspect.
Jerome argued with us until I proceeded to take Short Girl downstairs to our Charge of Quarters (barracks guards, CQ for short). I explained the situation and they immediately called a cab. After I gave the cab driver enough cash to get her home I stay downstairs and BS with the CQ for a bit, we were friends. Then we heard a crash come from upstairs!
Myself and one of the CQ guys rush up to the third floor and find Jerome in a Guillotine headlock, courtesy of Downlow. Downlow kept it slightly loose so Jerome wouldn’t choke but that didn’t stop Jerome from trying to kick and scream like a madman to get out. Apparently Jerome tried rushing Downlow. Big mistake, Downlow had been practicing Gracie Jiu Jitsu for about 5 years at that point and could get a hold anywhere. We get the two separated and Jerome starts talking about calling our supervisors but the CQ guy then says “do you really want to explain why you brought a high school girl to your room?” Jerome is adamant that he was in the right but is outnumbered three to one. His leadership is notified and they literally called him an idiot. Jerome then sulked the rest of the night, we gave him some pizza and booze to calm him down, he didn’t stay bitter for too long.
Some time later we’re all hanging out again. Myself, Downlow, Jerome, and BB get out of Downlow’s car and head up to the barracks. As we’re heading in Jerome says “there’s that son of a b****” and beckons us to follow him to the second floor. BB follows him but myself and Downlow don’t know what the heck Jerome is talking about and head back to our floor. As we’re heading to the rooms we hear Jerome getting heated downstairs. Not wanting to explain how Jerome ended up in the hospital we head down to the second floor, except we take another way.
We end up behind the guys Jerome is talking to. As Jerome is getting on this guy and his friends he stops mid way through telling them he was going to kick his a**. Apparently Jerome thought me and Downlow we’re behind him and had been talking crap to this group of four. The guy then calmly explains that he wasn’t gonna let Jerome creep on a female friend of his after she’d told him no already. The guy obviously did not want to fight but was willing to throw down if necessary.
One of other guy’s buddies noticed me and Downlow behind them and jumped a bit. We gave a sarcastic howdy and learn their side of the story. Apparently Jerome met one of their friends at Club Tatu some time ago and began to aggressively flirt (“Hey, I have a mustang”). She wasn’t feeling it and left. Jerome found out she lived in the same barracks we did and had been low key stalking her. He did this with every female he met in the Brigade, but this guy had stepped in. Dude turned out to be pretty cool once we got to talking. When our Platoon Security Detail guys moved into the second floor of our barracks, most of us ended up at the same parties!
Jerome fancied himself a weapons guy. He’d always go on about his “exotic weapons”collection. In reality he bought cheap crap from BudK and other sites like studded leather knuckle guards with blades cheaply attached. One weekend he had me accompany him because he desperately wanted a sword cane. We checked all of the pawn shops around Killeen, Temple, and Copperas Cove and found several. He was picky and wanted one with a long blade. He finally ordered one online and started walking around with it. After a few days of showing it off around the barracks he was finally told he couldn’t walk carry a weapon like that on post. He ended up taking it home eventually.
Fast Forward to our deployment. We’re waiting to leave Kuwait and Jerome is going on about his extensive win/loss record in kickboxing. His Squad leader, despite knowing Jerome can be a bit full of it, asks if there’s any professional records he could look up. He was a bit of a fight connoisseur. Jerome said all the records had been destroyed in a fire. When asked if Jerome’s coach might have another copy he responded,” Coach Van Damme didn’t believe in records!” We start busting up after he’s pressed into saying his coach was “a guy named Jean Claude Van Damme”! His squad leader is dying and starts referring to the guy as “Jacques Van Damme”! We rag him for about ten minutes before we get bored and go to the gym!
We’re about six months in and the Motorpool guys have located some sheet metal. One of the guys fashions himself some home made hunting knives. He was a freelance blacksmith back in Texas and made some really nice blades. He shows Jerome how to do it and thinks he must want to make himself a knife. Nope!!!
Jerome proceeds to make himself a sword! He’s under the impression that since we had to do the occasional security sweep through our camp that he’s going to get to show off his non existent sword skills. Our particular camp was a prison complex for captured insurgents. They rioted every so often and on a few occasions nearly broke out. The blade itself was a crude short saber with a lot of weight near the point. As he was doing some “martial artsy” whirls with it he attempted to chop into a thick wooden pole. The blade broke in half and we all laughed our butts off. He tried to take it back stateside but he lacked the paperwork and it ended up confiscated. He wasn’t happy.
After we returned from Iraq, my roommate (Rockstar from Karen The Sergeant) and I bought some wooden katanas at the Suncoast in the mall. They were cheap but we had a blast messing around with them. Jerome also bought a wooden sword from there, but he purchased one of their Spartan sword replicas. He came out and started swinging it wildly, almost smacking me upside the head a few times. I wanted to teach him a lesson but Rockstar, like some kind of Anime hero, offered to instead. Rockstar actually had some sword training, unlike Jerome, and managed to hurt his pride pretty badly. Jerome received several light taps up and down his arms and once in his belly, but he never landed a single hit on Rockstar. Jerome eventually gave up and threw his wooden sword in his room, where it broke in half like his Iraq sword.
That was the last of Jerome’s Bad A** Moments. I’ll post more Jerome stories later!

2020.09.18 22:46 TortelLoniAnderson Interested in switching from Verizon to T-Mobile, but could really use some help and advice...

Hi, I could really use some help and advice with phone and plans. I was beginning to proceed and ask questions through T-mobile’s online chat feature (which seemed helpful), but I stopped before “seeing what I could qualify for” because I wanted to check here first.
I've been with Verizon at least since 2008. I'm on an older plan, with grandfathered unlimited data, but it’s roughly $100 per month (even with a 17% corporate discount), and I’m (probably) not using enough data to continue to justify the expense (I use approximately 40 to 50 gb in data per month). Anyway, I've just been chugging along month after month, year after year with no issues and no problems. However, I’m about to lose the 17% discount, and I'm also now looking to get my daughter a phone and get her set up with a line.
It looks like T-mobile has some great deals and promotions at the moment, and it seems like they are really expanding. I also see posts here on the 20% Insider Hookup code, which I’m definitely interested in. But, I’m wondering how to proceed. I have a Galaxy S7 that I’d like to upgrade, and which I could trade in. I definitely don’t need the latest and greatest, but something better, and my daughter would need her very first phone.
Then, my wife and son are also on Verizon, but paid through a separate family member business plan (which I’m not currently paying). At some point they will need to move over as well. I don’t know if I would have to move all four of us at once right now, or sign up for 4, but only move myself and add my daughter, and move them over at a later date (if that's even possible). My wife has an Iphone XR (still paying on), which I’ve read here will work fine on T-mobile, but my son has an Iphone 6 (paid off), which I’ve read isn’t the best. So we would potentially need to get him a new phone, and probably pay off my wife's phone.
I’m currently looking at the Magenta plan for 4. Maybe I can placehold two spots for them to eventually move over? My wife is a little hesitant to move now. So, there are some short-term and long-term issues to think about, and I haven't looked into this stuff in about 10 years of so, and I’m not quite sure how to proceed. Sorry for the long post, but I'm hoping someone here can help. Thanks!

2020.09.18 16:47 BuckRowdy [Update] The rise and fall and the depths of depravity of pedophile Jared Fogle from Subway.

This is an updated and edited version of a post I originally submitted at /redditcrimecommunity. It's been updated with the latest info.
I used to be kind of obsessed with the idea of Jared from Subway. He always seemed like nothing more than wallpaper in a commercial, a guy whose job amounted to holding up a comically giant pair of pants for seconds at a time in commercials. How much do you think they paid that guy to do that?
I used to search to see if I could find out Jared's salary or his net worth because to me it seemed like he had the easiest job in the world. Just stand there and smile, hold up the giant pants, shake a few kids hands at store openings and other corporate promotional events; essentially play the character of Jared from the Subway commercials.
The Midwestern everyman who once weighed over 425 pounds and lost it all by eating at Subway every day. Of course the fine print at the bottom of the screen gave the wider context to his weight loss routine, but there was a much wider, much darker context to Jared's story that would only be revealed years later.
Jared started working for Subway in 2000. By 2005 they had stopped featuring him in commercials and their sales declined by 10%. They quickly reinstated him and he was a fixture ever since.
It is true that Jared did lose the weight, and he did do it in part by eating at Subway.
At this point it would be reasonable to ask how did he get the money as a college student to eat all his meals at Subway?
Because he was running a porn video rental business out of his apartment at the time and had an extensive collection. You've got to remember that this was in an era where media of all types was more difficult to obtain. You didn't have everything at your fingertips back then.
Subway opened up on the ground floor and Jared was lazy so he started eating all his meals there.
The rest of Jared's story is marketing mythology. A friend wrote an article in the student newspaper that got published in Men's Health which caught the eye of Subway's marketing department. Jared started working for Subway in 2000 and up until about 2007 it appeared to be a marketing master stroke. That's when the reports started trickling out. In 2007, TMZ published the story about the porn rental business.
We'd learn later that as early as 2008, Subway had received serious reports about Jared from a franchisee in Florida that Jared had befriended at a few store openings. Cindy Mills, the franchisee said:
"He would just tell me he really liked them young," she says. Fogle and Mills had a sexual relationship, which lead Fogle to disclose disturbing details of his criminal activity in lewd text messages.
Mills says she tried to blow the whistle by phoning ad executive Jeff Moody — then CEO of the Subway Franchisee Advertising Fund Trust (SFAFT) — after Fogle had told her that he had sex both in Thailand and the US with child prostitutes between the ages of 9 and 16 years old. According to Mills, Moody stopped her mid-conversation and said, "Don't worry, he has met someone. She is a teacher and he seems to love her very much, and we think she will help keep him grounded." Mills also claims she spoke with two more SFAFT execs after Moody, but ran into more dead ends.
Jared was up to no good for years, but his world really started to crumble in 2015 with the arrest of Russell Taylor. Taylor was Jared's partner in his non-profit charity and he was just as bad as Jared if not worse.
Russell Taylor, the former director of Fogle's anti-childhood obesity foundation, was arrested in April [of 2015] on three counts of possession of child pornography, three counts of child exploitation, and three counts of voyeurism.
Taylor had gotten in trouble for texting a woman a picture of bestiality and suggesting such between the two of them. It's a sick thing to think about, but that's just what Jared and Russell were up to.
In one of those text messages, according to the affidavit, “Russell Taylor asked her if he and another adult female she identified could come to Jane Doe’s residence and engage in” an act of bestiality. The woman did not agree to that request, but told investigators “you could tell (Taylor) was serious.” She also told investigators that “she received an image file via text from Russell Taylor that depicted (another act of bestiality).”
Jared's house was raided and the rest quickly became history. Subway dropped him. Sharknado 3 dropped him. Jared accused Taylor of fraud and sued him. One quarter of the funds of the charity were unaccounted for, and the only money they ever paid out went to Taylor's $73k salary.
I'm no professional but it's hard not to draw the conclusion that Jared was paying Taylor to produce child porn with a non profit charity.
The world found out about Jared in 2015, but in 2007 and 2008 two women were finding out a lot about Jared.
Jared had met a franchisee in Florida and started a sexual relationship with her. She called the FBI when Jared started texting stuff like this:
In one series of texts sent from April 2008, Fogle tries to convince the franchisee, a woman, to advertise herself for sex on Craigslist. She could make $500 per act he explains and he could watch her have sex with other men. Fogle then goes on to apparently admit to paying for sex with a 16-year-old girl off Craigslist.
The woman franchisee writes: "Is this the same website you found that 16 year old you that you f---ed?" the woman replied, according to an affadavit.
  • "I still can't believe you only paid $100 for her."
  • Fogle reponds: "It was amazing!!!!"
  • "What part of her ad made you think she was selling sex?" the woman asked.
  • Fogle says "U will have to read them to see."
The woman got a lawyer and submitted the texts to Subway who sat on them.
Around the same time, Jared met Rochelle Herman Walrond, a journalist who initially remained anonymous, who came forward and said that she got suspicious about Jared when he called middle school girls hot
According to the woman, Jared would often visit schools in Sarasota County, and allegedly told her numerous times that, 'Middle school girls are hot.'"
She contacted the FBI who asked her to wear a wire. She went on to record Jared over a nearly 5 year period, pleading with the FBI to go ahead and arrest him with them always saying that they didn't have enough evidence and needed more.
So she tried to get Jared to incriminate himself. Over that 4.5 year period they talked about a lot of stuff, like that Jared wanted to fly to Thailand to have sex with children.
"I would fly all three of us clear across the world if we need to,"[Jared] says on the tape. "It would just make things a lot easier — if we're going to try and get some young kids with us. It would be a lot easier probably."
He gave her grooming tips:
"Well, if we get them segregated out ... you know, start talking or whatever ... and we get a little closer, and a little closer and a little closer and before you know it ... it just starts to happen," the man's voice says. "But I think that girl from the broken home could be a possibility, you know."
He daydreamed on the phone:
"Do you want to watch me f— a young girl, too?" the voice of Fogle asks. "Will you f— a young boy?" When Herman-Walrond asks if that would turn Fogle on, he responds with a whispered "yeah."
“I had a little boy. It was amazing,” Fogle reportedly said, in response to a question about being with children. “It just felt so good. I mean, it felt—it felt so good.”
He also, allegedly, asked her repeatedly to let him install hidden cameras in her kids’ rooms.
“I had two young children at the time, and he talked to me about installing hidden cameras in their rooms and asked me if I would choose which child I would like him to watch,” she told Inside Edition.
The audio recordings can be heard at this link. She reported him to Subway in 2009 and nothing happened.
At the same time this was happening, Jared was flying to New York to pay for sex with minors. He asked the minors who he paid for sex if they knew anyone else they could recommend, always stressing younger if possible.
Also, according to the charging documents:
Fogle received "images and videos of nude of partially clothed minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct," which were allegedly recorded by Russell Taylor, the former director of the Jared Foundation.
Taylor secretly filmed some of the minors in his home using hidden cameras that captured them changing clothes and bathing.
Taylor was in possession of 400 videos of child pornography upon his arrest.
In 2011, someone else reported Jared to Subway via their website and yet nothing happened.
All this came raining down on Jared in 2015 when his house was raided and he was arrested and later charged with 14 acts of sex involving minors. He was ultimately sentenced to 15 years in jail and had to pay restitution to his 14 of his many victims totaling $1.4 million. His wife divorced him as quick as she could, Subway cut ties with him and the dominoes started to tumble.
All of a sudden the past reports about Jared came to light and Subway didn't have an explanation. Lawsuits started flying. Jared's now ex wife accused Subway of covering up Jared's pedophilia even from her because their marriage made Jared more grounded and more marketable.
It's now a sick joke, but at the same time of jared's arrest, Subway was trying to rebrand him as a family man.
So why didn't Subway act on the various reports it had gotten about Jared over the years? As this site puts it, it was a story bookended by laziness. Jared's laziness brought him to Subway, and their laziness in vetting stories led to the end of the Jared era with a lot of human misery left in his wake.
Subway has waffled in its response. Rather than taking the path of clear messaging and communication, and aiming to transparent and authentic throughout this terrible situation for the victims and Fogle’s family (as well as the brand), the company hasn’t been clear about where it stands in the midst of this crisis. What message was Subway sending to its employees and franchisees by keeping Fogle around for as long as it did?
As soon as he went to jail he instantly gained 30 pounds
In 2016, he filed an appeal which was denied. The DA's office argued:
[that] Fogle's text messages to a woman, in which Fogle stated he would "pay big" if she could procure 14-year-old children, and that he "craved" underage Asian girls. In these text messages, he also expressed sexual interest in young boys, although there is to date no evidence that he paid for sex with male children.
Later that same year, a brawl broke out and Jared was nearly killed in an attack meant to send a message to all pedophiles.
Other than that, rumor has it that Jared has it pretty easy in jail which is disappointing to hear given all that he's responsible for.
In 2017, Fogle tried to pull the Sovereign Citizen defense and claim that the feds didn't have jurisdiction over him which I imagine gave the feds a good laugh. The motion was dismissed.
In 2018, Jared sued to void his conviction going so far as to name the president (among others) as a defendant. It was unclear how the president was involved and Jared was forced to remove him as a defendant.
He claimed:
he was wrongfully allowed to plead guilty to conspiracy to receive child pornography, claiming that conspiracy doesn’t apply to such an offense.
His suit was dismissed.
That same year a woman pen pal of Jared's sold their racy letters to Radar Online. Seen here and here. She also sold a recorded phone call where she and Jared discuss porn and his sexual preferences.
If he wanted to appeal to a parole board, surely sending hand-drawn pictures of his genitalia that later end up on radar online is not a good strategy.
In March 2020, three of associate Russell Taylor's child pornography convictions were overturned for ineffective counsel. He still faces trial on 9 other charges.
In the five years since Fogle was arrested, Subway has been reeling. In 2015, their co-founder passed away and a new CEO was brought in. Internal reports indicate that customer traffic is down 30%. They've laid off over 400 people from the corporate HQ and this summer they had to revoke a promotion due to a franchisee revolt over the pricing.
Subway was associated so long with Jared it may take time for customers to form a new association. They tried to drop him once, struggled, and re-hired him. Clearly Subway lived in denial while Jared was their spokesman and looked the other way as business boomed. The new marketing strategy involves athletes. Time will only tell if they can recover from one of the worst scandals to ever hit a sandwich chain.
As of September 2020, Russell Taylor was being held at a federal prison in Yazoo City, Mississippi; Fogle was being held at a federal prison in Littleton, Colorado.

2020.09.18 15:31 Infinity315 The case for $OLN

What does $OLN (Olin Corporation) and $VSTO do?
OLN produces chemical products, but most importantly they produce ammunition (it makes up about 10% of their business). From their website, they're the largest supplier of ammunition in the United States. They own Winchester. In addition, they're also one of the largest producers of bleach in NA; which can be used to sanitize things (hurray?). VSTO sells ammunition in addition to providing shooting ranges. However, I think VSTO is a bit overvalued rn. According to the price to book ratio, OLN is currently undervalued.
Hypothesis:
Olin and VSTO will go up in price due to fears arising from the 2020 presidential election. Trump Republicans will buy ammo and guns out of fear that the feds will take their guns if Biden wins. Especially if the protests are not quelled soon.
Supporting evidence:
1. It has been observed (supposedly) that conservatives/republicans are more fear-driven.
Source: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/mind-in-the-machine/201612/fear-and-anxiety-drive-conservatives-political-attitudes
“Conservatives tend to focus on the negative … To many conservatives, the world may look like a much scarier place … Conservatives have a stronger physiological response to threats … Conservatives’ brains are more reactive to fear.”
2. Google trends indicate a spike in interest for ammo prior to elections.
Keep in mind this when reading the trend graphs (especially 2012):
” Numbers represent search interest relative to the highest point on the chart for the given region and time. A value of 100 is the peak popularity for the term. A value of 50 means that the term is half as popular. A score of 0 means there was not enough data for this term.” - Google
2016 : (Notice how the states with the most interest voted red? Wyoming, Alaska, West Virginia, Montana)
2012 (keep in mind this is 2012; the supposed end of the world, however, it still indicates a spike in interest at November) :
(Red states again have the most interest: Wyoming, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Alaska, Arkansas)
2008: (Regions with most interest: Wyoming, Oregon, Utah, Idaho, Montana)
3. Google trends for BLM and Antifa for the past 12 months:
Notice the majority interest is from red states and not blue states? Why would red states be more interested in what is generally regarded as Liberal or blue groups than democrats and liberals? Trump Republicans are very much scared / hate these groups.
BLM: (Regions with most interest: Wyoming, Oregon, Utah, Idaho, Montana)
Antifa (Regions with most interest: Wyoming, Oregon, Utah, Idaho, Montana)
Chaz (Regions with most interest: Wyoming, Oregon, Utah, Idaho, Washington)
4. The stock market seems to follow a similar trend with spikes around November:
2016
2012
2008
5. The rhetoric Trump and his campaign is feeding his supporters:
“President @realDonaldTrump: “The rhetoric of Biden and the Radical Left puts your law enforcement in serious danger””
https://twitter.com/TeamTrump/status/1306777755082780674
“President @realDonaldTrump: “Biden will hand the left-wing mob the keys to your kids’ classroom"”
https://twitter.com/TeamTrump/status/1306771724113981442
Trump text: https://i.redd.it/usbcfmp0mpn51.jpg (ignore the right-hand side)
Trump supporters have remained steadfast in their support for Trump. Trump has captured the loyalty of ~40% of the voting population that seems like they will never give up on him
6. Biden’s Platform:
Things that would be most concerning for pro-gun people (in my opinion)
“Require background checks for all gun sales.”
“Reduce stockpiling of weapons.”
“End the online sale of firearms and ammunition.”
7. There are concerns of ammo shortages, I suspect this will only get worse as the election comes near.
Google trends for "ammo shortage"
Google trends for "ammo in stock"
"Why not VSTO / Federal Premium Ammunition?"
Google trends indicate that Winchester ammunition occupies more headspace than Federal Premium Ammunition, however, considering that there is an expected ammo shortage, go for it.
https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?geo=US&q=Federal%20Premium%20ammo,winchester%20ammunition
My personal opinion:
Trump will likely increase the rhetoric, especially up until the very end of the election. The US is at it's greatest political divide since the civil war and the civil rights movement. This election will spark fear in both parties, potentially making some Democrats take up arms. Trump has also planted the idea that the election could be fraudulent in his supporters head's, meaning there is likely a significant portion of supporters who will stock up to "defend the constitution" or something like that. *****-----------------------------*****
Don’t skip this shit. If there is one thing you should not skip, it's this part.
*****-----------------------------*****
Should you trust me?
Full disclosure, I’m a university student in Canada. I probably know less about US politics than many Americans. I study Computer Science with a minor in Math, meaning guns, and US politics is a field I'm not 100% familiar with and am not an expert. I've never owned or shot a gun in my life and don't plan on doing so anytime in the near future. I'm pretty much completely removed from any and all gun culture. I’ve been trading for just under a 3/4 of a year now. I’m admittedly extremely inexperienced with trading and have lost a significant portion of the money I put in on stupid trades and COVID. I can only afford 2 contracts atm and my options level is not high enough for diagonals (balance is too low). Make of that what you will with this information. Don't complain if my stupidity causes you to lose money, you're choosing to listen to a stupid person.
Finally, the play (my position):
15/01/2021 $13 and $12 strikes. OLN
No positions on VSTO, the premiums are a bit much.
I look forward to a sober voice to double-check my work and ensure I'm right (or wrong). Advice is welcome.
Edit an addendum:
So I attempted to gauge the demand and the outlook for the chemical products that OLN sells. Here are my findings:
The significant drop in OLN at April correlates with the drop in demand / prices for their products in April.
PVC has gone up 35% since april, OLN produces PVC precursors
Sodium Hypochlorite prices have been flat since april
Potassium Chloride / Potash seems to be making a recovery since april
Outlook for Caustic Soda seems positive, the price has increased
The outlook for epoxy seems somewhat neutral to somewhat negative, according to ICIS
Akali Price index is slightly negative
I tried finding price charts from the same sites, but unfortunately some were too outdated or did not exist at all.
Note: I could not find the actual prices of what OLN is selling their products, but I believe that these charts could give some idea.

2020.09.18 08:04 kaitwill212 Any women looking for an online sponsor? I’m available!!

Hi my name is Kaitlynn, and I’m an alcoholic. My sobriety date is March 5th 2008. I got sober right before I turned 20. I have my own sponsor, have worked all 12 steps and have sponsored many women in the past. I am having trouble finding newcomers to work with on zoom. My work has slowed down a ton and I figured I should spend my free time helping others instead of feeling sorry for myself!
I live in San Diego. I’ve never sponsored someone online before but I do have a sponsee that moved to Seattle 4 years ago and now I sponsor her long distance. We talk on the phone, text and FaceTime.
I can take you through the steps the way my sponsor took me through them. I can offer my experience, strength & hope. I will not give suggestions on issues I haven’t personally experienced, but I can help to find someone that has had that experience. I will not make you do anything I haven’t done!
I’m not a “hardcore” sponsor. I don’t get mad if you don’t do something I ask of you. I will not push you to do anything you don’t want to do. I know some people need a sponsor like that but I’m just not that way! If you begin to work with me and realize we’re not a “fit” that’s totally fine and normal. I had several sponsors my first 2 years. Whatever works for you!
I have struggled with depression, anxiety, and self harm in addition to alcoholism. I say that in case someone can relate and needs support! My depression didn’t cause my alcoholism and my alcoholism didn’t cause my depression. I am not worse or better than any fellow alcoholic, I just have a different story to share to help other struggling. My story is the greatest asset I have. All the shitty things that have happened in my life become meaningful when I can share them with another alcoholic to help them on their journey!
Please PM me if your a woman looking for a sponsor or if you need someone to talk to or if you have questions about the program. I am here to help!
